One of my goals for my No Buy Year is to declutter my house and wardrobe, but I haven’t been very successful at this decluttering business so far. (Okay, I’ve barely tried!) Hence why I have decided to dedicate the month of March to kickstart my decluttering journey.
March, being the beginning of a new season, provides an excellent opportunity to reflect on what I have used and what I haven’t used over the last few months.
My plan is to tackle one area of my house each week during March:
- Bathroom
- Closet (last season’s clothing that I didn’t use or like to wear)
- Kitchen plastics and utensils
- Pantry
While I’m aware that there’s more decluttering to be done beyond this short list, at least I am starting somewhere. I should quote the Sound of Music to myself, Let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start.
I am trying to simplify my life and I am hoping that by decluttering, it will mean less possessions to clean, organise and maintain, and therefore more free time.
